Behind on your books?

Catch-up and cleanup

Months behind is more common than you think, and it's fixable. One-time project, fixed price, then you're current.

We'll get you caught up first

Most catch-up work takes two to four weeks depending on how far back it goes and how clean the records are. Once you're current, you can move onto a monthly plan or stop there — no obligation either way.

Choosing a plan

Which one is right for you?

Most people overthink this. The honest answer is that transaction volume decides it, and we'll tell you on the call if you've picked wrong.

Start with volume, then look at what you need to see

Starter suits a solo operator or a small business with one bank account and one card — a consultant, a single-van trade business, a small e-commerce store still finding its feet. You get accurate books and clean monthly statements, and that's genuinely enough for a lot of people.

Growth is where most of our clients sit. Once you have staff, a few accounts and real cash flow swings, monthly statements stop being enough — you need to see cash coming, and you need someone thinking about tax before December. That's the difference between recording history and running a business.

Scale makes sense when decisions are getting expensive. Hiring, opening a second location, taking on debt, deciding which service line to drop. At that point you need KPIs, budget versus actual, and a monthly conversation with someone who knows your numbers cold.

If you're between two plans, start on the lower one. Moving up is easy and we'll tell you when it's time. Paying for reporting you don't read yet helps nobody.

Pricing questions

What people ask before signing up

Because hourly billing punishes you for asking questions and rewards us for working slowly. Transaction volume is the honest driver of how much work your books actually take. You get a flat number, we get a fair one, and nobody watches the clock. It also means you can email us a question without wondering what it will cost.

Any line item hitting your bank or credit card accounts — a sale, a purchase, a transfer, a payroll run. A month with 80 card swipes and 20 deposits is 100 transactions. If you're not sure where you land, send us a recent bank statement and we'll count them for you before quoting. We would rather put you on the right plan than the expensive one.

We'll tell you before it becomes a problem, not after. If you're consistently over for two or three months running, we'll talk about moving you up a plan. One unusually busy month won't trigger a price change, and you'll never get a surprise invoice for going over.

No. If your books are current, we start work with no upfront charge. If you're behind, cleanup is a separate one-time project priced at $200 per month you're behind — quoted before we start, so you know the full number in advance.

No annual lock-in. Monthly plans run month to month and you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice. If you leave, your books and files are yours — we hand over everything, properly organised. We'd rather keep clients by being worth keeping than by trapping them in a twelve-month agreement.

No. Tax returns are priced separately, starting at $450. Tax planning is included in Growth and Scale. We keep filing separate so you're not paying for it in the eight months of the year when nothing gets filed — that's how a lot of firms quietly pad their monthly fee.

Yes, and plenty of people do. Get caught up, see how we work, then decide whether you want us monthly. There's no obligation to continue and no pressure on the call. If cleanup is all you needed, that's a perfectly good outcome.

QuickBooks Online is our default and where most of our clients already are. We also handle setup, cleanup and migration if you're moving from spreadsheets, Xero, Wave or a system your last bookkeeper set up badly.

Tell us on the call. For businesses with heavy and quiet seasons — roofing, landscaping, tax-adjacent work — we price on your annual average rather than your busiest month, so you're not overpaying in January for what happens in July.

Usually within a week of the call. Onboarding takes a couple of days: we get access to your accounts, review what's there, and agree a start date. If you're mid-cleanup we'll give you a completion estimate before any work begins.

Tell us and we'll fix it. If we miss our 48-hour reply guarantee or your books aren't closed by the 15th, say so and that month is on us. If it's still not working, cancel — no penalty, no argument, and we hand your files over cleanly.
