SERVICES / QUICKBOOKS TRAINING
QuickBooks trainingAn hour of training saves
months of cleanup
Most QuickBooks messes are created by capable people doing their best with a system nobody showed them properly. Training is the cheapest intervention available, and it is the one people skip.
Generic tutorials,
specific problems
QuickBooks has extensive documentation and no shortage of video tutorials. They are competent, comprehensive and mostly unhelpful, because they teach the software rather than your workflow.
The person entering your invoices does not need a tour of every menu. They need to know how to raise an invoice the way your business raises invoices, how to record a payment the way your payments arrive, and what to do with the three transaction types that come up every week and confuse them.
That is why training built around your own file works so much better than a course. You learn on your data, with your chart of accounts, doing the tasks you will do tomorrow.
The economics are stark. Training is $150 an hour. Cleanup starts at $500 and frequently runs to several thousand once a couple of years of accumulated errors are involved. An hour or two of instruction at the right moment prevents most of it.
There is also a confidence dimension that gets underrated. People who are unsure what a feature does tend to avoid it or use it wrongly, and both create work for someone later. Someone who understands what they are doing works faster and creates fewer problems.
Who benefits most
- Whoever enters invoices and bills day to day
- An owner who wants to read their own reports
- A new hire taking over the books
- Anyone who has inherited a file they did not set up
- Teams that have grown and split the bookkeeping
- Anyone avoiding features because they are unsure

What training
covers
Built around your file and the tasks your team actually performs.
Daily workflows
Invoicing, recording payments, entering bills and expenses, done the way your business does them.
Bank feed handling
Matching, categorising and knowing when not to accept what QuickBooks suggests — a major source of errors.
Reading reports
What each report is for, how to run it, and what the numbers are telling you about the business.
Avoiding common errors
Undeposited funds, duplicate entries and reconciliation mistakes explained before they happen.
Multi-user setup
Permissions and roles configured so people can do their job without being able to break things.
Recorded sessions
Every session recorded, so the next person to join can be trained without repeating the whole thing.
How training
works
What do you need?
We ask what people actually struggle with rather than delivering a standard syllabus.
Built on your file
Sessions run on your own QuickBooks with your own data, not a demo company.
Live sessions
Usually one to three hours, split across sessions if that suits better. Questions welcome throughout.
Recording and notes
You keep the recording and a short written summary for whoever needs it next.
What training
changes
Errors drop immediately, and the ones that stop are the expensive ones. Undeposited funds, duplicate entries and careless bank feed acceptance are all avoidable once someone understands what they do.
The work gets faster. Someone confident in the software processes invoices in a fraction of the time of someone guessing, and they stop escalating routine questions.
Owners get more from their own reports. A short session on reading a P&L and a balance sheet properly changes how much attention those reports get afterwards.
And it makes handover possible. When the process is documented and recorded, losing whoever does the bookkeeping stops being a crisis.

QuickBooks training questions
One to three for a specific workflow. Three to five for someone taking over the books entirely. We would rather do two useful hours than sell you eight.
Yes, and it often works better — everyone hears the same thing and can agree how your business does it. Recording it means new joiners get the same training later.
Primarily Online, since that is where almost all businesses are now. If you are on Desktop we can usually help, and it is also worth discussing whether migrating makes sense.
Yes, and it is a common request. A written procedure for your specific workflows, produced alongside training, is genuinely useful when someone new starts.
Book another hour whenever. Plenty of clients do a session at setup and another a few months in once real questions have emerged from real use.
If we are doing the books, training is usually about you reading reports rather than data entry, and that conversation is included. Team training on data entry is charged separately.
